Buying Boyd Wheels

I think I have decided on buying some Boyd wheels from Newstalgia. I have read a few negative comments about dealing with Boyd but am curious if the problem is specific to Boyd only. I hear that Newstalgia is great to deal with. Does anyone foresee any problem with me purchasing Boyd wheels through Newstalgia?

The only issues I can see for you are the duties/brokerage fees getting them across the border, as you are in Ontario (same as me). I'm considering doing the same thing as you, although not right away as there are a few priorities ahead of the wheels on my car. If you do decide to order them from Newstalgia I'd be very interested in hearing how it goes, and what kind of fees you're presented with when they arrive. Which wheels are you thinking of going with? I'm thinking I like the look of the Junk Yard Dog in an 18"

I'm looking at the 17" two tone wheels. They look like a modern version of the original Hurst Wheels. As for shipping and duties. They ship free on the US so I will probably have them shipped to a friend's place in the US.

I can't say anything about the condition of Boyd wheels but I just bought some Billet Specialties from Newstalgia and can't begin to say enough about there customer service and quality shipping. I did the wheel and tire combo and was told it would be 3-5 weeks for delivery and they ended up at my front door mounted/balanced and ready to go in 9 days.

Ah... that's the way to do it, then.... just drive the car over, bolt the wheels on, and drive it back. No shipping, duty, brokerage fees, etc. The prices of wheels here in Canada is insane, TTII's with tires from Newstalgia are actually between $600 and $1400 cheaper than the prices I've got here in Canada. Can't even find the Boyds. Those Two-tones will look awesom on your GTO.

The wheel prices up here are stupid. But so are the prices that wheel companies post on their websites. I was quoted 450 each for Intro Vista wheels from Intro and have found them for as low as 375 from other retailers. I just don't get it. If you need a shipping location in the states email me and I will hook you up.

A friend of mine has been dealing with Boyds (his son Craig I believe) about getting a set of wheels with his project logo cut into the spokes. He says they've been really good to deal with. I would expect some service for what I'm guessing he's paying :bsjerk:

We'll see what they look like when he gets them.

I ordered them via a local shop (friends with the owner, gave him business) the price was good but they took FOREVER!!!!

Then they got stolen :(

How long is forever? I'm thinking 6 weeks at the most is reasonable.

It was about 2.5-3.5 months.
