I built the frame myself, because I love to fabricate. It utilizes a C5 front cradle with relocated upper control arms. I went with a 3 link rear to minimize binding and save weight, should be no problem handling the stock LS3. The rear end is currently set up with 4.11, will probably swap for 3.73 before I put it on the road. These pictures are few months old, will post more when I've got some time.

Looks good! In what direction did the upper arms get relocated? Lots more pics and info please!

Yes, more information. Your brackets almost look die cut

Thanks for the interest guys. I have dropped the upper points to increase negative camber gain. I did consider adjusting anti-dive, but decided to drive the truck first and change later if necessary.

Not sure what you mean about my brackets looking duecut. Guess I just take my time to make them as accurate as possible.

Very cool. I finished my 69 LS/T56 swap this summer. The one thing I don't like is the position of the gas pedal. Kind of moves my knee up a bit more than I would like. You may have to sink the seats back into the rear window area for better leg round. I think cruise control is in the future for me.

Thanks for the heads up. We did find that same thing when we built my son's truck. I've got the engine set back quite far in mine, so that adds another dimension to pedal position. So far with the seats I'm running and were I've placed them, I feels pretty good, but I won't know until I get further along. Since I've got to rework the firewall, I can extend the footwell if necessary.

How did I miss this build? Where are you located?

My computer doesn't work as well with all this drool on the key board

79 Camaro - I just finished a plain LM7/4l60E swap and have that exact problem with my knee and the gas pedal in my truck. Not sure how to make it more comfortable....

I haven't changed anything in regards to the gas pedal yet. I'm in sunny soon to be snowy MN. I will have a few months of down coming up to see if I can find a better solution. Funny thing is I had a 70 C10 about 30 years ago and don't remember the cab being that small. Maybe I just got bigger? I'm 6'2" and about 220.

Again very cool project. I like the headers. Did you fab?

dacls1
03-05-2019, 08:02 PM
Thanks guys. Ride height sets the base of the pinch weld on the rocker at about 4.5". I'll steer clear of tall speed bumps. Yes, I fabbed the headers, my son did the TIG work. Nobody makes anything that fits my setup. Everything out there hangs really low and I'm set up so nothing hangs below my frame rails.

Simple and clean design. I really like it. FYI...those splitters work better when you block some of the air entering the grill area or if you reverse duct the hood.

dacls1
06-04-2019, 11:48 AM
Sbeck09, thanks for the response and info. I have been considering blocking all air intake except directly into the radiator and coolers below, also venting the hood. My original intent was to keep the exterior of the truck completely stock, other than wheels and roll pans with diffuser and splitter.... Trying to figure out a stealthy way to implement more air management.

I was thinking the same. Maybe we need to take a little initiative? I mean....LSfest has an east and a west event. Why can't PTTS? ;)
