Gumball rally was on speed, did anyone catch it? The scenes with the camaro in the twisties were cool, it looked like a wreck in the making.
Speeds new drive-in series is cool, I hope they show all the car movies we have talked about .

I saw it last night. I didn't even know that there was a movie out there about that race. Awesome film! I had a feeling others were watching it too! I loved that Cobra. Lots of cool cars in there.

If you are interested in watching the Gumball I once rented Mischief 3000. You can find info about it here. http://www.teckademics.com/mischief3000.html
I have also seen Mischief Destroy which I did not think was as good. I rented them at my local Hollywood Video store.

The Teckademics movies are awsome. They are kinda like jackass meets cars but way cooler, and with some amazing cars.

I saw that in the movie theater with my father, cool movie,
yeah i watched it last night. it did look like that camaro nearly lost it through a few of those turns. the guy on the bike had me laughing.
actually the lost drive in thing on speed has been around for a while. i think they took it away for a while though. i remember watching the remake of vanishing point with vigo mortensen a couple years back. oh and death race 3000 was on too.

Gumball was the first "PG" movie I saw in a theater way back when...great movie. I forgot there was a 2nd gen Camaro in it and when I saw the preview this past week I knew I had to watch it.

I caught part of it last night, too. I remember watching that movie as a kid (like 4-5), and thinking how cool it would be to do something like that. I didn't get to see the camaro in the twisties, but I did see the TA carving some corners. Looked / sounded great.

Was the t/a yellow?

Yeah, it was like a butternut / pale canarie yellow. The car would've looked even better in a modern shade like millenium yellow (c5/c6 vettes) or the viper yellow.

That wasn't a TA, it was a '70-'72 Camaro. Reminiscent of a Motion car with the L-88 ram air hood, 3-piece spoiler, cragars, etc. Had a cage as well.

Heres a great trivia question, what type of car hits the dozers in the original vanishing point?
??????????

:banghead: Was it really a Camaro? :dunno: I only saw the scene with him carving the mountain road. Ahh well, pretty sad I missed that too, since I want to build a '70-73 TA next. :lmao:

For a decent t/a in a movie see "cannonball" with dave carradine. Oh, and there was one with a burt somebody...
Back to the trivia question...or has been answered accidently?

Was cannonball the one with the red lambo? Must've been the Countach? Or was that in gumball? The movie I saw as a kid was about one of these endurance races, and I remember the red lambo in it. I dunno, maybe I'm losing it...
Gotta love the bandit, but I prefer the early 2nd gens :wrc:

White '70 (or was it a '71) Challenger. Best movie ever. I have the original VHS copy.

It is in fact a CAMARO that is laying wrecked and burning at the end of vanishing point, they used a 68 or 67 camaro instead of the challenger. You can see it in the last few scenes if you watch closely.
Its kind of a trick question.

Ah, yes, I remember something like that now. I guess the producers thoght that Camaros were disposable :naughty: . I'll have to pop the tape in when I get home from school for Christmas. My dad gave me that movie when I was about 8 years old, I think. That and Two Lane Blacktop. A couple of the best car movies out there.
-Brian
its funny they switched to a camaro for that last scene but they tore up some other rather nice cars in the making of that movie. also i thought the charger was actually a clone and not a real hemi R/T. i could be wrong though

They probably got a wrecked camaro and plopped it on the road , if you watch there is no "crash" just a shot of the car speeding towards the dozers , then an explosion , then the smoking wreckage.
Two lane blacktop was on today ,not the most exciting movie ever made but I liked it.
Most of the car dialogue is good except he "checks the jets" about every two miles.

I heard that in the opening scene of Two Lane Blacktop those were actually real (orange county I think) street racer's. I thought that was pretty cool.
