Flared or Bulged '67 Camaro Front Fenders?

Hey all!

Is anyone aware of flared or bulged '67 Camaro front fenders on the market? We need to get about 1" of additional clearance to run the wheels and tire size we're looking at running.

James Shipka's 67 One Lap Camaro had the front fenders flared in such a way that you can hardly tell them from a stock fender. As I recall, they gained about 1.5" per side. Best of Show did the custom fenders and there used to be a whole series of photos in his project thread here on PT showing how the fenders were pie cut and the sections moved out. I have tried to contact both James and BoS to see if I could get copies of the build photos but have not received any response. There are a good collection of pics of the One Lap Camaro on his facebook page. If you look at the fenders you can't tell they are flared until you notice the 315 front tires. I would also like to flare my front fenders in able to fit a 315 tire up front but I don't want the flares to be obvious. If someone could get in touch with James and see if he still has the front fender mod pics it would be nice to have them back on PT.

I have a pair of new repro front fenders to sell if you need to make front “skins”. I bought JCG carbon front fenders that are bulged. Molds were taken from Blue Balz.
I welded steel skins on the rear, ganed 1.5”

I saw the pics, can't find them now though. They cut of the fender side at the peak ridge running lengthwise, then used an english wheel to stretch them, then welded them back on.

One strange thing done was I think James had them push the lower fender inwards to the rear of the wheel. I think to help extract air from the wheelwell. Not very noticeable but in this angle it is. A bit of a problem area was where the fender meets the lower fender extension. Clearance was tight there with the wheel offsets we had and if widening the fender you need to bring the lower fender extension out at the same time to keep the lip an even flow.

Feeling your pain! The 69s got all the love but us 67 \ 68 guys are coming on strong lately.

I couldn't find a good QUALITY option either so I just plan on putting the investment out to craft some myself and do all the fancy things we've been hearing from a few friends who used to do Daytona Prototype races. Naturally carbon fiber is the goal but they will not look 100% factory which may make them bad candidates for a majority of Camaro builders who want to run a wider front fender.

Without the JCG option, the only other one is to run actual flares like the ones on Rodney Prouty's Camaro:

It has a Speedtech Extreme subframe, but want to run 315s or 335s up front. You can do that on a '69, but not a '67-'68.

When I last spoke to Blake he told me you could run 315s up front but the inner fenders would be the issue? He told me slight rolling of the outer fender lip would be needed as well and that would be all (backspacing on the wheels would be around 8.25 I believe)? I'm running there extreme subframe with 295/40/18 up front and it looks like there's enough room for a 315? My cars a 68 as well.

Very good point. It is risky going away from the stock look.

Chances are, ours will look quite different, probably polarizing on opinions.
Some will absolutely love them. And probably just as many will utterly hate them.
