I have an IDIDIT in my 66 mustang. it does have the Gm upper shaft.

I am looking for a quick release setup? google has been no help, nor was ididit themselves.

I've heard people talk about NRG's steering wheels being low quality, are their quick releases nice pieces?

Works/bell quick releases are very high quality. NRG is a knock off of their piece. I used a NRG adapter on my ididit column which is nothing mechanical. Sparco makes a good unit, just may not have the spline count. Then you will need an adapter.

Brother has same setup. Installed NRG short hub adapter, PN SRK-170H, with NRG Gen 2.5 quick release, PN SRK-250BKC. He uses a Sparco wheel with it.

I have their quick release and it is a nice quality piece. Mine is attached to a MOMO wheel.

I have never used a NRG wheel but some of my friends have and didn't complain. I'm partial to MOMO for wheels.

Yes the NRG are nice pieces. Tight, no slop, only lock in one way and the horn works. I didn't know about Works Bell. I like the NRG 3.0 with the big batwings as it is super easy to operate with gloves on.

Try going through mrsteeringwheel.com (http://www.mrsteeringwheel.com/hub-boss-adapters-and-quick-releases/), it runs about $240 on their website. I was actually able to get it down to $200 because I bought my brother's setup and mine at the same time.

I put one into my firebird recently that has an ididit column in it/momo steering wheel. Nice quality and solid. Looks like it should work great. I used their SRK-200BK quick release and their SRK-170H Short Hub Adapater. I can take it off/on in a few secs pretty easy when needed and it its my needs. If I was going to get one for a track caged car, helmet on, critical emergency situation, I would get one that has the grip wings on it to find the release easier.
