I just got off the phone with dirty dingo about ordering motor mounts and oil pan. I was told by their Tech guy that I didn't need an oil pan other than the stock F body oil pan on the LS1 is this correct I need to know and also if anybody can help if I ran the dirty dingo adjustable motor mounts would it slide the motor enough to use LS1 Kooks inch and 7/8 to 3 inch collector headers

The F body pan will barely fit if you slide the engine all the way back to the firewall. Less than ideal and you don’t see many folks doing that anymore.

Check out the Holley mounts, acccessories, and headers. They work together for a clean install...

I was suggesting you buy everything Holley and skip the Dirty Dingo sliders, Kooks headers etc. Go with a proven system so you don’t waste your time spinning your wheels...

Thats the answer I was looking for just because I'm ordering all this stuff doesn't mean that I have all this money laying around to do it twice and three times it's taking a very very long time for me to Mass to be able to even begin this and the help is greatly appreciated

I have a 69 camaro with stock ls1 oil pan. Used adjustable motor mounts to slide back. Your cylinder heads will be approx. 1/2" - 1" inch away from the firewall to have enough clearance between the suspension center-link and oil pan

With a T56? What sort of tunnel mods and driveline angles?

Purchase the Holley LS swap products, Motor mounts, oil pan, headers. What transmission are you going to use ??

I'm using t56, drive line angle around 3.5 degrees. No tunnel mods. I might have messaged with a body hammer in one area. Did not cut anything...

But if I was to do a swap all over again, I'd go with the holley kit. Saves a lot of time

will the holley headers clear the steering rod for a rack?

Using a rack and pinion on a factory subframe is a bad idea. Bump steer among other issues. Use a quality 600 steering box with rack valving.

Holley headers will not clear a unisteer rack on a camaro (I tried). The rack made the swap a real pain, but found the following to work; GM BBC camaro frame stands (moves the engine 3/4" towards passenger side), DD sliders, moroso solid motor mounts, Stainless Works headers, Autokraft oil pan, and Speedtech transmission X member. This is for LS and T56 magnum in 1967 camaro. Also, I did not have to cut the tunnel.

Last, we do not have bump steer trouble with ATS tall spindles and arms. Thanks

I used:

have a unisteer rack and pinion with the big block kit had to add a 5mm spacer on the motor mounts (There may be som better motor mounts so you dont have to buy the spacers)
