Would like to get some opinions on these mirrors, I started mocking them up for location and fit on a junk door I have in the shop. While setting this up I found that the mirror sits very close to the window and becomes nearly impossible to open the vent window and even seeing out the mirror is difficult. I decided to fabricate a 1/4 inch aluminum spacer to match the base and space it out from the door, I figured it would blend into the base once painted. I really would like to push them further forward but there useless up there. I found a pic of this car in a mag and the location of the mirror on my door is pretty close to his, but it sure looks set back a bit. What do you guys think?

When I installed mine I layed it out on the drivers side door first using the existing bigger hole in the door to run the remote cabels threw and centered the mirror from that. It placed them further forward from where yours is...not sure if it will work that way with the wing windows though...mine is a 68.
What mag is that article in? And which month? Looks like a sweet ride!!

looks like a workable alternative for a 67 f-body. I am sorting out the same thing for my 67 firebird.

Tom- Are you using the same mirror? Any pics to show?
74-77 chevelle/gto , they have a little taller base than the second gen camaro. They also have the stud type monting that goes through the door, not that u shape bracket that mounts to the door and holds the mirror. Im really undecided, not sure if I can live with the mirror being that far back.

June 2005- Super Chevy
The car has a completely custom-designed and custom built tube frame. Looks very Nascar under the hood or should I say under the bars. Beautiful car and almost entirely built in the confines of a home garage.

I have seen 91-92 Buick Regal mirrors being used like this, also eletrical controlled!
