The RX7 with the LS1 swaps actually have about a 51% front 49% rear weight distribution.

Total weight is 3150 with my 260 pound ass behind the wheel.

Andrew, you suck! :ripped:
Seriously, good job. Just wish I would've bit the bullet and put that in my car. At that time it would have been one of the first TT-LSX's out there in a red 69 Camaro with TTII's! :candle:

Oh Jimmy...You were so NOT ripped!
That engine is funny. It only dynoed at 350RWHP and there is no way you would have been able to turbocharge it as it sat. The compression is way too high. Believe me, I have a single turbo, wastegate and BOV sitting in the garage. I was going to install it in the Mazda, but I really don't want to tear into that motor.

Very very nice. I remember those 12.14s in the GTO. The RX-7 is almost a full second faster!

No leaks from the water neck?

Thanks John. The water neck is working out just fine!

In all honesty the RX7 will run circles around the GTO. I wish that more people would build cars with a little concern for weight.

They are in mp4 format. You may have to get the latest version of Windows Media Player, or you can also view them with Apple's QuickTime movie player.

That is probably the best sounding RX7 I have ever heard. Rotaries work (til the apex seals go anyway) but they sound HORRID.

Are you still running the stock independent rear? If not what did you change it to?

Stock IRS. I am working on installing a center section out of an 04 Cobra Mustang for both durability and better gearing. The stock RX7 ratio is 4.10 and its too much.

How much did it cost overall to do the LS swap into the RX-7? I've been thinking about doing this myself for a while, but haven't talked to anyone who actually did it! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Without thinking about it too hard I think I have about 10-12K in the swap. That includes doing a complete rebuild of the front and rear suspension. Some guys have done it for as little as 6k, so they say. As you know there is no upper limit.

This might help:
