Hi, I am finishing up my ls3 swap (430hp) into my 69 Camaro. I had a canned tune for the ECU and TCU done and wanting to verify that the shift points are correct. I am running Dakota Digital guages and have the tach set up but haven't calibrated the speedo as of yet. Am I correct that rpm triggers the shifts?? Any help greatly appreciated. BTW, this is a 100 percent street driven car, nothing too crazy.

Hi. Shifts are triggered by both speed and rpm. It first looks at the rpm but keeps itself in the same gear until the target speed is reached. That is why sometimes the trans don't shift. Especially if You had changed rearend ratio and tire diameter. You can make some logs on hptuners and then adjust your shift speed and shift rpm accordingly. Cruise and WOT tables have to be done separately but most of us keep cruise tables the same as wot.
