Not to be a naysayer, because your car / parts are looking great....
but aside from custom paint, 18"20" rims and a 468, what about your car is intended to make it "pro-touring" ? all I see is a six speed an a hi-comp BBC for highway crusing and stop light drags :-\
plans for brakes to slow that motha down? suspension? aide from some non-stamped rear control arms?

I should have mentioned those for sure. I have hotchkis front and rear sway bars powdercoated chrome for detail, hotchkis boxed lower control arms, adjustable upper control arms, hotchkis lowering springs, front disc brakes (gm) for now, Planning on updating to Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes.

Nothing like joining the board and showing the rest of us guys up. Some of us have been working on your cars for years and haven't got that far. LOL
How about some history. Who you are, where are you from? How long have you had the car? What other P/T mods? How long have you been working on the car or have you sent it out for work? We need what is called a rap sheet.
Thanks,
R.P.

Good Point. My name is Rich Shinkovich, I'm 30 years old and live in Morgantown, WV. I bought the car in 1999 at the Fall Carlisle car show. It was a bench seat 396 4-speed Butternut Yellow car. Although I have had a hand in about every aspect of the tearing down and rebuilding of the car, I had a great engine builder from Southern WV build the non-orginal BBC, I also contracted all of the body work and powdercoat. I will work with the bodyshop to have a hand in the reconstruction. I would love to do more, but I have an engineering company and a family and simply cannot keep up. I plan on 4 wheel discs and possibly a 496 roller motor down the road!? But I realize that plans change so I will keep it at that. I am really looking for a 63 split window vette to redo pro touring style.

Let's here more about that color!!

Let's here more about that color!!
Its a custom mix House of Kolors blend. It has a Cinder Red Metallic base, and Kandy Tangerine over it. The Bodyshop doing my car did some modifications to the paints to get the desired effect. Far away, it looks like a copperish orange fireball color, from 5-10 ft it looks almost brick to candy apple red, and right up on it you can definately see the metallic, and the tangerine color jumps out. Whats even better is the fact that the results you see are without even a wet sand, buffing, or polishing of any kind!

Thank you and please tell your son he has great taste. I am really happy that I stuck to my guns with the color. The bodyshop typically uses other brands of paint, but I would not budge on my decision. Thanks again for your kind regards.

Being an A-BODY LOVER, not to mention that I think the body lines of the 64-67 A-bodys are one of THE most attractive cars out there! I can't help but tell you that it is going to be one helluva a ride once complete! Keep us posted

Thank you very much. I really appreciate that coming from someone with a car as beautiful as yours. I saved the pics from your car in my favorites folder, and LOVE the color combo you chose. Thanks again for your support!

Anyone with any suggestions on how to improve the car in the direction I'm going with it. I realize brakes are a major issue, anything else? I'm definately open to any and all suggestions. I would like to build this car for me to drive, but have the highest quality possible with the hopes of some magazine coverage.
Thanks

Thank you very much. I appreciate it. I thought the color might be too over the top at first, but it turned out very well. It's almost done now (promised by bodyshop Christmas Day!)

Thank you. The interior is completely new White Bucket seats and door panels (factory style), non-console 6 speed, 67 GM accessory tach, NOS Radio delete plate, Heater delete, and every other piece brand new. I am considering a half wrap Billet Specialties Dragster steering wheel. I really can't claim that the inside is typical of a pro-touring car, maybe could be considered more g-machine like. I have always loved the look of deleted cars (like the old factory drag cars), so I am building this one just like I like it. Also, I don't have anything against nice sound systems, but I am personally addicted to the sound of a Big Block. This car is strong, very strong approx. 600-615 hp, and the sound is like a pro stock car. It's awesome. I will be uploading a video clip to the media section soon, check it out when you get a chance. Thanks again for your support:icon_razz
