power steering pump pressure

I am wondering if there is anywhere I can find out power steering pump pressure. I have heard that too much pressure can make the car twitchy and to little can make it hard to steer. I am adapting a 2002 crown vic remote pump to my 89 town car. The pump is for a rack system and my town car has std recerc ball steering box. I want to see if I need to put in a pressure reducer , I don't want to blow out my seals in the box it is new. please :help!: :help!:
