Hi guys and gals,

I'm new to this site and need some info.

This is my first attempt at doing anything other than a stock restoration and I'm running into a bit of an issue with wheels for the Pro Touring 1965 GTO I am building.

I want to run 17's, maybe 18's in a pinch and need your feedback on the following wheels.

It would also be cool if you could lead me to a reputable place to purchase the wheels from. I live near Toronto, Ontario Canada, but can have stuff shipped to Niagara Falls NY or Cleveland.

Any help what so ever would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

the boyd rallye and the intro vista are basicly the same wheel. the boyd one is a copy of intro's wheel.

the oasis wheel is ver nostalgic looking, if thats what youre after then that'd be the choice. Looks heavy, and not too sure about the quality of the wheel. Intro wheels are very high quality, I've heard good things about their service. You can buy from them directly.

Nice choices...I got the Boyd Rally's but would go with the Intro's next time, Just cause of a crappy customer service experience with Boyds.

I got mine HERE (http://shop.sportruck.com/) but like Tony said, you could go direct.

All three are nice choices. Its all preference. One thing you may want to check into is what rims are available in the so called fat lip or soft lip. Providing you like that style.

Oasis makes a great quality wheel its what I have on my Escalade pretty easy to deal with for customer service when we ordered em tho that was about3-4 years ago..........

my question of quality on the oasis wheel is just from a lack of dealing with them personally. I've personally never seen them with my own eyes, is all.

But now that we have someone to vouch for them, there you go.

If I had the extra funds,I would buy the three-piece Boyd 309's.
Those things would look killer on my car. :smoke:

I would stay away from Boyd - very shady company
I'll add to the confusion

Thanks Travis. I am leaning towards the Boyd's but got a little nervous after reading Lowend's comments. But I think I'm back on the boyd wagon again. BTW I plan on buying my wheels through Newstalgia Wheels.

I ordered my Boyds in Jan of 03...got them in May of 03. Servise is the worst. As far as quality the wheel it self is of the highest made ,the polishing was the not greatest. I hope this helps.

If customer service is important to you...get ready for some attitude from them (Boyds that is, not Newstalgia). Read the bios of the people invloved on the website there. It's a great comfort to read Greg Coddintons comments (he is the wheel customer service rep) that the WORST part of his job is dealing with customers!! WTF are you doing in CS then!!!

Wheel quality in my opinion is just average. Mine had polishing compound all over them. One other thing, I've heard some people complain about the "sticker" used on the center caps. Real Boyds should have an engraved centercap THAT SHOULD NOT COST EXTRA, that I heard some vendors charging extra for.

I know your situation! I have been looking for wheels for my 65 as well. Problem I have is the lack of pictures that others have done to see what looks good. Not that I want to be the same as everyone else, but ideas would be nice. This website has been a big help to me (although they only show a 65 convertable) http://www.autowaretech7.net/nextwheels/newstal.htm
It lets you put different wheels on to see how it looks.

Every time I have delt with Boyd over the years something has gone wrong, wheels have been 3 months past their projected delivery date, wheels have come in wrong (saw blade turned one way on the left side of the car and the other way on the right side). Every time I've called them for anything other than the initial order I have basically been told to pound sand.
Now Boyd has problems with the CARB; stay away... He has packed his bags, closed his company and ran off with a bunch of peoples' money before.
