Hi, no fancy intros here. Very old pro touring build 84 Monte Carlo SS. B spindles, it has them, done back in 2001 and C5 Vette brakes with Flynbye brackets. We all know how terrible the B spindles are, and most know why. Bump Steer, Ackerman, Scrub radius. I've been searching the web trying to find out if B body conversion upper control arms will work on stock G spindles to convert the car back, but was unable to find an answer. These were expensive Hotchkis arms back in the day, but worthless now to try and resell. Some had said this might be possible by rotating the offset cross shaft(s).

C5 brake conversions are out there on cut-down rotors, G body and B body spindles both. Problem with that is the small tapered outer bearing isn't really designed to take any negative camber, and the C5 rotors do not center on the machined down cast rotor hubs, and the wheels barely do. The sellers of brackets are usually open about this.

The 98-05 S10 Blazer two wheel drive spindle is plentiful now, and is a direct G body replacement. Sealed hub bearings take care of rotor/wheel centering and bearing loading issues. Taller lower ball joints are available to correct the bump steer on stock spindles, so a conversion back to stock dimension spindles can still provide some negative roll on compression, and can be found cheap ($75 at PAP for Blazer stuff). Sorry, this guy no have $1600 for Speedtech AFX items.

As a side note, the Hotchkis arms appear to have a taller upper ball joint already.

So what's the answer? So far, they FIT!. With the cross shafts flipped, At ride height the wheel has a slight positive camber with one front 1/8 shim and 2 1/8 rear shims. Another shim or 2 should get it right.

What I don't have is a stock G body spindle to compare the Blazer spindle to, AFAIK they have the same joint dimensions. Maybe it's a tad taller? The B spindles are 1 1/4 taller than the Blazer.

Wanted this info to be on the web, here's one case where success with Hotchkis B arms are proving to fit some Blazer/G body spindles.
