Bought a 93 Chevy truck, V-6 with the 5 spd, It seems that the trannys stuck in gear, I wanted to pick the tranny experts brains on this one, I'm going to try to get a junk yard trans, but I was wondering what could be wrong, something that could be a easy fix, let me know, thanks Steve

No none of you tranny guys can help me with the problem, I know it's either a Tremec or a new procress GM trans, I have to check the bellhousing, thanks Steve

Bent shift fork? Bound up synchros? Everytime I've gotten a tranny stuck in gear )umm, 3 times) it's been sometime internal, obvious, and bad.

If I were you I'd drop it and crack it open.
Have you checked the gear oil? Any chunks?

Found a guy here locally, it's a Getrag German built tranny, same thing in BMW's parts are expensive, $750 to 1200 to fix it, usually they run low on oil and murder themselves, A J/Y trans is $850, so either way, I'm spending money, Steve

Damn, that's no good. Be happy it wasn't a subaru, on my old car I had to spend 2k on the gears alone.

While I cant remember for sure if the Getrag trans is the one it'd be in your best intrest to check on what type of gear oil that unit takes. I had the same trans as you I believe which was beaten merciliessly and never broke but it did require the $15 per qt "special dealer only lube". That trans does not like 90w gear oil (I know...I know but I was stranded 750mi from home and gear oil is all I had on hand).
