Gotta be. How do you report these to ebay?

I'd have to say so. Supposedly located in Michigan. If that's true, you can pay in person.

They're popping up more and more frequently. It's like every time I get on to look at Camaros there is a new slick car for $6500. They hijack peoples accounts via sites acting like ebay and getting your login information. They buy an ad and put in some sweet car and say "contact my email, my contact seller doesn't work". You contact them blah blah they say the ad is pulled but the car is still for sale but the owner is located in England or whatever. Send a bad check over the amount due and ask that you send the excess amount in cash to John Doe, their accountant. The check bounces, the seller vanishes and you're our however much the check was overpriced for.

My dad is going to email the guy and tell him he will click on buy it now and drive over tomorrow with cash to pick up. We'll see what we get for excuses on why he can't meet and should send payment another way.

I just e-mailed the guy to see if I could come out to view the car before bidding. Canton is about 30 minutes from where I live. We'll see if he answers.
Yeah right....don't count on it.

I did the same thing with a guy just over the PA border, he replied saying how nice the car is but never said I could come look at it. Then the ad was pulled after I reported it.

Good! I'm also glad to see nobody was gullible to place a bid either, at least when I checked it.

My pop did get a response from someone on it. It was written in very poor english. He said that the had relocated to England and the car was in a crate at the port and he would ship it immediately and it would be to WI in 5-8 days yada yada yada.
Whatever.
