Hi guys, so adding a Hydratech Hydroboost and Wilwood MC with adjustable proportional valve to my 72 Pro Touring Elcamino. Ran into a clearance issue, didn't think I'd have a problem so ordered a left hand bracket (only one that was offered at MBC). Yeah, well the valve hits my inner fender well.

Here's the question. Can I run it as in the pic? Mounted the bracket on the top bolts and now it's on the rt side. If I go off the lower bolts it's too close for me to the header and causes a clearance problem with the dipstick. This was I'd have to fabricate lines to the cylinder and switch wire runs out the back.

I'm wondering if it being higher than the MC will it cause problems, maybe a bleeding nightmare?

Been there. You will like yourself better if you just forget the existing prop valve and go to the standard valve that only has the rear line plumbed in and out of it. You can mount that under the master then.

I use both front ports on the master to feed the front lines then or you can tee it down by the frame.

Why would you put the proportioning valve under the hood ?

It's easier to open the hood than lay on the ground?

why not in the console or next to the seat where you can adjust while driving?

Is that where yours is? Got any pics?

I don't want it in my console because then I'll knock my slurpee over when adjusting rear brake bias mid corner.

I know that some track guys will mount them inside so they can adjust for different tracks etc. I don't need to be that versatile. My main question is will there be worries that it rides a bit higher than the MC?

I already had the stock valve mounted under the original MC but since I'm changing to hydro boost I liked the idea of an adjustable one.

In my opinion; any time an item is plumbed in that is higher than the M/C it can cause bleeding issues as well as excessive pedal travel as fluid comes back into the master cylinder. Residual valve can help this problem but can cause its own concerns. I would strive to keep it lower if at all possible. I have had several race cars with floor mounted pedals and the M/C on the floor. Always seem to end up with residual valves installed.

No worries unless you have a leak in the system and get air. I think you would like it inside when you are driving in the rain. I sure do. I even added one to my Tahoe because of the piss poor bias that the stock system has.
