I told my wife she gets to pick out the shifter for the Camaro, so she picked out the horseshoe shifter. I located one and now have all the hardware to mount it and the cable. I'm needing some info on where exactly to mount everything? It was an original column shift car, so no holes to locate anything. I'm assuming the 1 1/2" hole for the cable to go through has to be in a specific place? And also the shifter location has to be close also? Any info. would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Guys. Trond

Pretty sure your horseshoe is the same as my horseshoe... once I took the carpet out of the car, it was pretty obvious where the cable went - there's a flat spot there; and the shifter only really fit right in a small area. If you've got the console to go with the shifter it should make it even easier.

I wish I had an original console, but I'm custom making one. I'll check that out when I get home tonight. Thanks.

I'll try to take a measurement tonight or tomorrow, along with a pic or two. What are you not sure of, the distance from the dash?

I'm wondering if it would be easier to measure from the firewall back to the grommet and back to the shifter itself. Thanks for doing that!
Trond.
