For sure, decreased my news watching (unless its NFL Network or ESPN) significantly. Where has all the positive news gone? Good stuff in these forums

The "Real" World is depressing, the Car World is much better!

Interesting that Forum traffic is down, though!

Way down. 2-3 years ago this place was very active. Not so much anymore. Seems like Facebook is taking over.

I'm on FB but find myself constantly shaking my head at some of the stuff I read on it. These forums are much more reliable in that aspect. I haven't been on this site much in the last ten years, since my 69 Elky was a casualty of divorce, but hope to spend much more time here now that I have a new project.

But yeah, I agree with Kevin on this site being a good sanctuary from all the BS out there in the world.

I don't like FB for Car info - too much other BS you have to wade through

No doubt about it..... the car advice bull**** is deep on FB. That said it seems like that's where it's going. Like you guys though...I much prefer forums for a multitude of reason

Therapeutic? This site is like handing a bottle of Grey Goose to an alcoholic.

Now I have to go shop for more tools...

I like it here over most other car communities. I find myself being added to "car groups" by people only to find out that they're a "ford motors only, no others will be tolerated" group or similar. Not my cup of tea, I love variety and seeing what you guys come up with. Also yes, WAY too much BS. I see people asking and discussing things that are already ALL over the forums and have been discussed 10x. I love it here, some of you just have way too much of a budget haha.

I admit to being on Facebook, but I'll take a forum discussion anytime. You can research threads on almost anything, see how people attacked various problems, see multiple solutions and see the logic of their direction.

I'm also on FB but I have never been very impressed with the FB groups single linear format. It would be like mixing all the topics here into one thread which makes it virtually impossible to keep up with a single subject thread. Like Kevin said the news is just so infuriating these days that it is kind of relaxing to come here to divert your attention.

I was on Facebook in it's early days because I had a .edu email address. I shut it off in 2010 and I don't regret it for a minute.

This place is still pretty active and there are constantly new members being added. I think traffic goes in cycles and with the warmer feather people tend to not be on the computer so much.

I would have thought you were a lot safer in your shop with your dogs at your side. :lmao:

Yeah, I've never been a big FB or any of the other social media sites. I really like it here. Seems like everyone pretty much gets along and the BS is limited. (There's always going to be BS, some in fun, some in reality). Besides I've learned a lot here, and made some new friends so what's not to like?
