I will be spending every day from now through Christmas in the desperate attempt to keep my husband from seeing that video! ! !

Should he happen to see it, I promise to post the video of our house.

God help me.

That was damn cool. We live in a neighborhood that is on the news every year for lights. Before our kids grew up we were up to 20,000 lights with a 5 day set up over Thanksgiving holiday, and were still lightweights in this neighborhood. The king, a few dozen displays and 100,000 lights!

I'll try to get video when he sets them up. But we have a guy that kicked everyone's ass 3 years ago doing computer controlled lights and music. Much more holiday like music and theme than the one here, does a 30 minute show. Probably 20,000 lights and choreographed like a Broadway show. Absolutely amazing stuff.

Electric Light Orchestra eat yer heart out. That was great. The ending was kinda anti-climactic, though. I so wanted the house to explode on the last note.

Watch the grass. I have been trying to figure out if its real or not. It looks like a bunch of still put together. It would still require you to take a picture at every possible lighting scenario during the song, but wouldnt be to tough to crop together.

Anybody know if its real or not?

Not sure if it's real, but here's the site it came from. There are several other videos on there too.

oh its real. just ask snopes

http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/xmaslights.asp

This display was the work of Carson Williams of Mason, Ohio, who spent about three hours sequencing the 88 Light-O-Rama channels that control the 16,000 Christmas lights in his 2004 holiday lighting spectacular. The musical accompaniment is broadcast over a low-power radio station so that it is only audible to visitors tuned in to the correct frquency and doesn't disturb the neighbors.

The rough quality of the video has led some viewers to believe it was put together in stop-action form from still photographs, but that is an artifact of the high compression used in the clip circulated via e-mail. Mr. Williams has posted instructions for recreating his "Wizards in Winter" sequencing, and another of his choreographed Christmas light music shows can be viewed here.
