Hello all, from Alberta, Canada. I am going to try and document my 1974 Esprit transformation here, as I spend enough time obsessing and planning that it seems reasonable to share this journey with fellow enthusiasts! I wanted a small rear window car, preferably a T/A, but my vision for the car does not lend itself well to altering a true, collectible and expensive original. So when I found this 1974 survivor Esprit, in all its vinyl roofed, spoiler-less glory I decided to go for it! The car was in the next province to the west of me, British Columbia, and I had an aquaintance go and check it out for me... and bought it sight unseen based on his reasonably educated inspection. Vintage English car guy, but he knew a diamond in the rough when he saw it. 46000 original miles, 2 owners, no accidents, and ugly as a can of smashed buttholes with that vinyl roof, flat hood and lack of a rear spoiler lol! No disrespect intended to those who may have an affinity for that combination. Anyhow, luckily, others did not share my vision and the car sat for sale for a considerable period of time before I made a deal with the owner. Now that I have ripped into this thing, I have realized just how fortunate I was to get such a clean, unmolested, essentially rust free 42 year old car. Anyhow, I've started the project and will get the post up to speed as time permits.
