I bought a black '75 Dodge crewcab dually 4x4 back in February. It's got sheetmetal from a '93 Dodge and a complete interior from a '95 Crewcab. It came with a fuel injected 440 and 3 speed torqueflite. It got miserable gas mileage(6 mpg), so I decided to transplant a Cummins Straight 6 Turbo Diesel and an NV4500 5-Speed OD manual trans. I found a '93 Cummins that had been wrecked pretty badly, but the engine was perfect: intercooled and all mechanical.

No electronics makes for a much easier conversion. I went today to the conversion shop out in Amish country and picked it up today. It drives beautifully. The original A/C condenser was damaged, so I'll have to replace that before next Summer, and I need a speedo cable to match the new trans. The truck has 4.10 gears in it's twin Dana 60's. I'm thinking I'll switch to 3.54's to make it more highway friendly. I'll also probably buy a decent stereo system eventually. Take a look and let me know what you think.

That is quite a transformation!!!Looks like they did a great job. That must have cost quite a bit to have someone else do all that work!!!

They always say you're better off buying a completed car than paying for the work. I paid $3k for the black truck. It was owned for 20 years by one guy. He did all of the engine/suspension lift/body work before I ever bought it. The only thing I did was take out the gas pig 440 and replace it with the Cummins.
