Hey guys,my wife and i went today to delmar and the autocross kind of sucked.
Most of the big time drivers didnt come this year, and vendors like ridetech, dse, speedway didnt come too.
Im wondering if theres no need for them to attend now that cam and optima has gained such big intrest.

I kind of see it the opposite.. I think it gives a nobody like me a chance to show up get as many runs in as possible and try to make a name for myself... I had a blast in Pleasanton last week and had some decent times..
But see what your saying those events are getting bigger attention

Gotta agree with a smaller "pro" turn out I had more runs than I could handle all before noon at the Scottsdale event. Although only one lap at a time it takes awhile to learn or nail down your entry and exits...

What I'm seeing is that as more and more events come online the "pros" and vendors are spread thinner. I view this as a good opportunity for the little guys like me to play more. Not dissing any particular "pro" but they do tend to overshadow the general competition and they can be a bit boorish at times without even realizing it.

I suspect with more shows being held, the pros and vendors have to choose where to spend their travel budget. This is likely going to be based on expected turnout for the event. And that is total turnout not just the number of autocrossers. That means some of the shows will get dropped and others will get added and the mix will change every year.
