View Full Version : Coil Over spring rates

I am in need of some assistance on what spring rates I should run on my 75 Monte. Ill be running AFCO 13t shocks. The rears are going to be run in the stock location and the fronts are going to be run from the stock location shock mount on the lower through the spring pocket location to a bay bar. Swaybar size is undetermined yet but open to suggestions there too. This car is going to be an autox/ track day/ street car.

If you are looking for g-body advice hit up UMI Performance. They are also dealers for afco iirc and can get you setup depending on your goals/budget.

I really like this program for the setup! The only problem I have is that my shock setup is a little different than the shock packages they have in the program. Ill be running the AFCO13t which is a 7" stroke but runs a 2.5" spring. Im not sure if theres a difference between rates on 2.5" over a 5" spring. I dont think there is but I want to make sure I have the right info.. Any more info is greatly appricated! Thank you!

Our spring rate calculator is for 2.5" ID coil springs. So long as you input the data correctly the spring rates will correlate to your vehicle.

We are looking at preload and wheel rate to suggest a "daily driver", "performance", or "racing" spring rate. So choose accordingly.
