Hey guys i have a 2000 tahoe limited that i want to put on the frame of a 2008 chevy avalanche. The avalanche body is wrecked but the frame, engine, trans, and brakes are all intact. Would this swap work? Any advice would help

Although they do share lots of parts I'm going to say no do to the wheelbase length , you will need to shrink the frame and wheelbase by 14" .... Once you do that then it would be the body mounts ....etc etc . Might just be easier to remove the engine, trans, suspension etc and swap those over being as they're damn near perfect exchanges

Isn't the avalanche and suburban the same chassis?

Nope ... at least according to Wikipedia lol, regardless the wheelbase is still off quite a bit . It would be way easier to swap the good drive train over and suspension and we know the parts are a direct fit

The Tahoe is shorter than the Avalanche like Ryan said. Now the Suburban and Avalanche are the same chassis and length. I would just swap the driveline from the Avalanche to the Tahoe, much easier than the body.

What about brakes because drums suck. Is there a kit i could buy for a rear disc conversion?

Sure ..lots ...all depends on your wallet thickness

What will i gain by swaping the suspension and can i also swap the differentials so i can have disc brakes all around and 6 lug rims?

Well swap the suspension if one is better than the other ...otherwise I'd say leave it alone.. Swapping the diffs is a bolt in affair ,so yes you could keep the disc brakes

Would that be the best way to get disc brakes in the rear without buying an expensive kit?
