Hello, The reason I discovered and joined the forum is after having a nightmare of a time with my transmission, I was Googling around, searching for answers for what would cause a pilot bearing to come apart during use and I found the thread on this forum concerning indexing a QuickTime bellhousing and specifically finding parallel and concentric between transmission and engine (input shaft/crankshaft).
I wanted to first introduce myself before asking questions. I have never considered my car "Pro Touring" but it may actually fit into the category since I love to drive it on the street. I have a 1981 Mustang Cobra with an LS454 and a (recently) faceplated Ford spec T56 Magnum. To mate the Ford transmission to the LS engine I have a one-off QuickTime bellhousing. I used the Ford transmission because I wanted a cable activated clutch for drag racing. The clutch is an Ace NexGen softlock.
I have owned the car for 31 years and it has seen many changes over the years. I have entered the cars info in PT Garage and will be posting in the Manual Transmission forum shortly. I would appreciate any advice.
