Have a 71 Firebird and I want to convert from 7/16-20 wheel studs to m12s. I think if I use a 1/2 inch drill bit that should still give me the press fit I need. Is this correct? Thanks for the advice.

ARP recommends 0.005" smaller drill bit than the knurled section of their wheel studs if you have steel axle flange. I use their 1/2" studs which require a 43/64" hole. A 1/2" hole might even be too small if you use something like these Jegs M12 studs which require a 17/32" hole http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/65157/10002/-1 . Are you trying to match an upgrade on one end of the car?

To match the upgrade on the front. Correct. It's a temp setup till I get my mosers ordered. I used a 31/64 bit and it's just a little too small and can't be pulled all the way into the seat. 1/2 is just a little too big and seats it, but will spin if too much applied. I think I'll use the 13/64 bit. it's only temp so it should be fine. Thanks anyways notata.
