Hi guys
i have a 68 BUICK GS, not a lot of Protouring cars like this arround and so i have no way to see examples of rim tire fittments.
My main concern are the Rears
i want as much meat as possible with decent sidewall... wich is hard on this Abody.
most comparable is a Chevelle 68/69 i guess.

Wheels are 19x10 BS 6 in the back

fenders are cut and rolled to make more space
Actualy i run a 275 Nito drag on a 15x8 ralley wheel.

would a
305/35 /19 fit? how much do they hang over the 10 " wide wheel?
what you recommend?

305 is a tight squeeze, but with a rolled lip will probably fit with the right backspacing. you might try looking around for an old used tire and rent a wheel fitment tool and see what offset it would take. I have a 285 on the rear on my 70 Chevelle which is a same generation A-Body as yours and I know there is room for a 305 I just haven't looked into it what offset it would take to squeeze it in there.

My car is in the garage on stands so I cant get the side view. Here is how the sidewall sits with weight on the wheel and tire.

Yeah, in wider widths they are more expensive than a similar width tire in 20". I think partly because 19" were mostly used on european sports coupes/sedans. If I did it over again, I probably would have do 19/20.

With the higher backspace your wheels are 1/4" closer to the frame than mine. 305 would probably fit depending on the brand and sidewall buldge.

Sorry for the picture mess.. that would be great. on the inner frame side i might have enough space my main concern is the straight edge quarter panel outer side.. since its not shaped round as Cutlass, Chevelles Lemans.

Brand wise i would go with Nitto s 305/35/19
