So I’m making some good progress on my LS1/t56 1973 Vega wagon. I figured out how to correct the ackerman angle problem when using the S10 spindles Moved the mounting location of the idler arm and steering box. This also helped with my oil pan clearance.
Now I cant find decent wheels & tires in the size I need. (decent as far as drive it AND autocross it)
I need my front tire to be 24 inch diameter or smaller, any larger and its major surgery.
So any 17 inch is going to be a rubber band...out of the question where I drive)

Oddly enough Falken Azenis and BFG Rivals are available in the following sizes
215/45/16 (front) 23.6 dia
225/50/16 (rear) 24.8 dia

The 225 /50 /16 fits beautiful on zero offset 16x8 (4.5 backspace) in the back. I borrowed some wheels & tires

On the front I can only run 4.5 backspace (any more & the wheel hits the tie rod end)
I believe a 16x7 (plus 12mm offset) 4.5 backspace would be perfect if I could find a wheel
The 8s won’t work in the front

So I need 16x8 with 4.5 backspace (zero offset) and 16x7 with 4.5 backspace (plus 12mm offset).
Any options that fit a Vega project budget?
Thanks!
Dan

Vintage Wheel works? Panasport?

I think that will be a tough one. 7" wide is hard to come by with a 4.5" backspace _and_ match a 8" wide with zero offset _and_ be Vega cheap. Try Basset Wheel?

Why not 15s? Wayyy more tire options.

Depending on what you want, check out U.S. Wheel. I just ordered a set of rally wheels through summit. They offer custom backspace at no xtra charge and summit offers free shipping. So i go 4 16x7 with 4.75 backspace for $360. They are going on my 64 nova. Ill be putting 225/50-16 on all four
