That may be a little different that other projects posts here, but since I have worked on this car for about 6 months straight, I havent got the time to post pics and info as I was going on, so I just collected some pics during my build and decided to make a video story :

Please let me know if you like it, and if you don't and need to post pics/info instead, I'll be glad to do so as well.

Alittle info about my project :

It sarted as a real '71 Formula that I bought for $6000, Amazingly I only had to replace two rear quarters and 4 floor patches, all other body panels are rust free. My budget was tight so I decided to go black with turning all chrome pieces into a flat black. I kept all the interior original, including all the gauges (used Dakota Digital converters to mate them with the LS engine). Decided in a full front/back CA Chassisworks suspension, 13/12 in. wilwood brakes, and a modern LS3 based 416 (about 500 RWHP) to a Magnum T56. The steering is all stock, except having a Z28 steering box (12.7:1 ratio) which I rebuilt and adjusted, its turning almost like a new car now with all new steering components.

My budget was about 30K to cover all the cost, and I ended up saving a few dollars.

The car is a blast to drive, and I'm enjoying driving it everyday, except that I need to wash it everyday because of the black color!

Thanks alot guys for the nice words!

Yeah I always prefer the look of the Formula on the Trans Am, it just look much smoother and cleaner with the dual snorkels.

The car was originally automatic which I used a built 4L60E with the LS swap, but soon I realized its just too boring to drive, so I put in a Magnum T56 6 speed and boy how the car was transformed totally into a beast!
