Car Insurance Question.

What are you guys paying for car insurance? Not trying to be nosy, but just wondering. I have Hagerty's, and for $22k worth of coverage it runs around $300 a year on my '68. I want to bump it up to $35k and it's going to be just over $400/yr. Like I said, just curious.

I'm just under $300 for $25K of coverage. Went with AMIG (American Modern) after researching. The Hagerty's and Grundy's were too strict on use and that turned me off. My annual is $250, but another $40 added pleasure driving so I can pretty much drive when I want, where I want without the insurance hawk hanging over my head telling me "that's not covered"... I'm also out west, so our coverage is probably a little higher than back east.

I think mine is limited to 1000 miles a year. That's not much if you do any runs, or travel to different shows. I need to see for sure what the limitations are.

I went with American Collectors $25K value no real limits on miles under $200 per year.

paying $250 per year for $25K, just added my car trailer for another $35. AMIG, American Modern Insurance Group. Hagerty and Grundy turned me off when they said I couldn't drive my car as I wanted, it was basically no store, no errands, no this, no that. With AMIG, I pay a few $ extra to use the car as I want, I'm allowed to drive to the track, park at the track, but the second I put the car on the track I am no longer covered. Exactly as I want, very happy.

The price you pay is not near as important as the coverage the policy provides.

First and foremost READ YOUR POLICY!

Nobody ever does read their policy and only find out they have a problem when they have a claim denied because the policy "excludes" whatever was the cause of the claim.

The "exclusions" in your insurance policy are far more important than the price. Don't know what "exclusions" are?

I pay $384 a year with an agreed value of $75k. That includes 2500 miles a year and occasionally driving it to work option.
