So I get home from work today, all excited that I will be taking my car to the paint booth I'm renting. Thrashing around the garage to get everything together, I am finally ready to put the car on the trailer. Get it started, and as it is warming up, right in front of the trailer, it just quits. WTF! I'm thinking, this has never happened before. After 2 hours of trouble shooting and watching the sun go down, I determine that my MSD Digital 6 box has taken a poop. Had to cut up all my wiring to bypass the box just get the car running. I was wiggin' out thinking I wasn't going to get the car on the trailer and get to the paint booth. What really chaps my but is the :machine: :machine: :machine: MSD only has about 250 miles on it but is out of warranty. But, all is well now, the car is at the shop and I have a beer in my hand.
Thanks for listening, I feel much better now that I have talked about it.

Just buy another one, place the poop one in the box and send it back. MSD usually doesn't check the numbers so it should be cool. Then when the warrenty one comes in sell it. Better than starting from new...

I'm convinced that cars--especially hot rods--are alive. Perhaps the car is protesting your choice of color? Or maybe it just LIKES the garage and doesn't want to leave? You have to put yourself in your car's shoes (uhh...tires). It's sitting there all comfy in the garage. It's staring at a trailer and assuming the worst. Maybe it thought you were delivering it to a new owner?

Did you talk nice to it? You should try to be more considerate of its feelings.

MSD is awesome to work with on problems. If you can drive it without the box, just send it off to them and they will (usually) fix it free of charge. Call their tech dept and tell them what happened and I am sure they will send it back to you fixed. I always talk to Ed Monte, he has sent me 3 sets of wires that the turbo heat were killing, and fixed 2 boxes for me. AWESOME people!

Well it's good to here that their support is so good. I'll be calling them on Mon. to see what we can work out. Oh, Steve, your probably right. I need to work on communicating better with my car.

I second the 'car has feelings' solution. Sometimes my car, Grace, will not start for my wife, and after she has touched the car, it won't run for me either until the battery is charged. (or I just need to fix the battery ground in the trunk!)
