I will be there for the whole thing, hopefully with my new ride and my wifes car . Working everyday to get this thing done . Thank god i hired someone to help out more .

My other business has 35 cars built . about 10-15 are going to pick it up in Va somewhere, look for all newer mustangs with BROOKS on the windshield.

I personally am going to drive to FL and then drive back . Should be a good test for the car , and its testament to what i can build in a short period of time. 550 rwhp 6 speed and hopefully 20+ mpg

Datsbad-
If you look on hotrods site, there is a link when you register to check out the hotels. They give you a couple choices as far as beds and how nice of a place you want to stay at. It also tels you how far away from the event the place is and of course the cost.

I'm bringing the Road Runner along with two friends. One has a '67 satellite 'vert. The other has a 440-powered '72 Challenger. We're using the Amtrak Autotrain to get our cars down to FL and then drive the entire Tour back.

John McIntire
12-22-2005, 01:13 PM
cool, where in south jersey are you from? I never thought of the auto train. Where do you pick it up from? Where does it take you? How about the cost? I'm sure its cheaper than the gas it will cost to get down there!

I live in Maple Shade. Search on Amtrak's site for info on the AT. You load up in Lorton, VA. It drops you in Sanford, FL. The cost is $85 + $140 for the car.

My family and I are already signed up but not ready to go. Two Camaros and not enough room to take for a two week trip. 2004 power tour was pretty tight for two weeks in the 69 but is was fun. This year we are going with something a little bigger THE TRUCK. If we can it will be a little lower, some news wheels and tires. It needs paint but that is one more thing to have to worry about getting done.

I'm doing the long haul this year! Ohio to Florida, Florida to New Jersey, New Jersey to Ohio all in 10 days. Now that's a long haul......

For those of you who have already signed up, does the $65 registration cover the driver and one passenger like it did last year?

Dan

I am pretty sure it does, Dan. I can not put my hands on my registration at the moment. Which way do you go to Fl.? Maybe we can hook up and do that part of the trip together too.

Thanks guys, I just located my Power Tour paperwork and it does include the entry for (1) passenger.

Bill, my father is traveling with me, so given our current plan I'm leaving OH on June 1 and traveling to his home in Eastern NC. Then on June 2 we're leaving NC for FL. I would be great to do part of the trip together, but I won't be going through TN. There's a chance he may fly to OH, so if we both leave from here I'll get back in contact w/you. What day are you traveling to FL?

Yeah that package that Prodigy is putting together is a great deal. I just wish I hadn't already booked everything so early. I was kind of nervous and wanted to lock in my places. I was registered and had everything booked last year!!!!!

Also, Has anyone gotten any type of confirmation or info package in the mail yet? All I have is some email saying that I've registered. Just wondering. Can't wait to meet up with some of the people on here!

We're signed up and will make it to Kissimmee (Best Western Heritage Park), Gainsville (Holiday Inn University) and Perry (Holiday Inn somewhere near there). Daughter, two son's and I are leaving 2 Jun AM from Panama City to Kissimmee. The plan is to hit Old Town Friday Night. Hopefully, they'll do the same as last year they waiver the year requirement for PT folks (Friday is the post-73 or 74 night). We'll be in a 69 Camaro and maybe a 67 Camaro if it's done in time. Otherwise, second car is a 2004 Mustang GT.

If we have the time to get most of it finished by the trip my son wants to take 78 Nova. I am in the heart of track days at the moment. Last two weekends at CMP, next weekend at Road Atlanta with Roebling and Sebring next month.:twothumbs

But we should have the new engine and trans in by the end of the month.:seizure:

Sounds like a plan. I will also be pulling out on the morning of the 2nd, heading straight thru to Orlando. Oriental is just across the Neuse river from Morehead. PM me sometime before then and we'll make that drive. I have a Buddy that will also be driving his 63 Nova ss down.

I will intersect I-95 somewhere around Jacksonville FL "noonish" on Friday. We will be taking the "Woodpecker Trail" from the Augusta area to there. It woould be nice to cruise dwon with some folks. We ran all the way to Milwaukee pretty much a convoy of 2 last year.
