wiper motor upgrade

hello all. I have a 79 trans am and looking to upgrade to a modern wiper kit. been in touch with dse and they don't make them for a 79 trans am yet. does any one know of a kit out there that will work looking for a new bolt on kit. not one that I have to modify . cheers kev

So what's the question should you use something else or use the Newport stuff ? ....im doing a 70 chevelle and I've been told to look at 4th gen camaro wiper motor so I can "park" the wipers like mine did stock . Now I can recall if 3rd Gen f bodies did too. Having said that I've also heard some guys using 90's 2000's cadillac Deville wiper motors.

just looked on the Newport link above and they only list 70 to 78 mine is a 79. what's the difference did not think there was

I've upgraded a 70 Monte to a 78-83 stock type truck (Silverado) wiper motor and swapped the stock Monte wiper switch for the optional pulse/delay setup which was an option for 78-83 trucks. I build the underdash harness conversion as well as provide the outer firewall harness section. We opted to upgrade to a slightly more modern setup using just GM parts which are easily found anywhere.

A kit for a 79 may be available from them but not listed. You can try emailing them.
