Shocks fully extended do not reach spring perch at full droop

I'm replacing the rear mono-leafs in my 1969 camaro with some Global West springs, I'm upgrading to Del-A-Lum bushings, and adding double adjustable Varishocks while I'm at it. I had to use a DSE multi-leaf adapter since i'm going to multi-leafs.

The last step was to attach the shock on the first side I finished up and realized the shock won't extend all the way to the shock mount. It's maybe two inches too short? Is it normal for the shock to limit how much the rear end will drop?

Fairly common...more important is your available travel with the suspension loaded.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Since it's highly unlikely I'll be jumping anything in the car to completely unload the rear suspension, I assume the shocks should be able to tolerate holding the diff and springs up when I jack up the car? that is, I shouldn't have to disconnect the shocks before I jack up the rear?

That's how it is with most cars. If the shocks were taken loose on my El Camino the coil springs would fall out when on the lift.

Lol...it just happens that is the only way to remove the rear coil springs in most cases. Btw, if using some lowering coil springs in the rear they will fall out if you don't adjust your shock lengths...yes, I have done that hehe.
