This car is for sale not far from me. It's a Florida car but needs a head gasket (I6). It is very clean, just needs some touch-up paint work. Burgundy metallic w/cream leather interior.

I can get it for less then a grand. "Probably" $900 or so. It's been for sale since late summer last year. It started out at 1600 and is now at 995...
I can replace the head gasket but the head will probably need milling. Easy enough, there is a shop near me that does this stuff.
If I get it and it will be too much to repair the motor I will do an LS swap on it.
I know they are nice cars and I don't think it would be a money pit once the gasket is replaced.
What do you all think?

An LS swap would fix all those issues you are concerned about!

Is there a picture of the actual car?

i know some of those jags are a serious PITA to do brakes on due to the inboard independent set up in the rear . otherwise yes hit up JTR and do a swap

Thanks guys. I talked myself out of it (so far). It is still sitting there with $995 in the window. I decided to put the money into the remote shifter hardware for the Astro. One thing I DON'T need is another project and I'm afraid that's what this would turn into real quick...
