Coil over installl without scratching springs???

I'm having my coil over springs powder coated and am worried about scratching the finish during assembly. Any ideas on how to avoid messing up the finish??

What kind of coilovers? Most of them now-days pop together pretty easily with no compressor needed.

They are Viking double adjustable. The rears are soft enough that I can compress them enough to slip on the top collar but the fronts are too stiff. I had to use a spring compressor to get them off and it scratched the silver coating. Im getting them powder coated black and am worried I'm going to beat them up putting them back on.

You could put Painters Tape on them during the Install to protect them

That's the only thing I could think of and what I'll probably end up doing.
