I did the 98+ fbody rear disk swap on my Skylark with the 8.2" BOP rear diff. It has bolt in axles and after the swap was complete there is a gap between the axle flange and the backing plate mounting point. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if anyone knew of a place that sells a spacer to sandwich between the flange and backing plate. It's quite difficult to find a place that can fab one for me as I work 8-5 mon-fri.

That's the one thing I hate about my olds rear end. I do like the bolt in axles, but they suck when it's time to do the rear disc swap. I seen a few guys on classic olds doing the upgrade and there's a full article there step by step. Let me know if you can't find it. And kore3 has a full kit that they sell, maybe they can help.
Here's one article, but there's more on that site

Shawn:
I'm running '01 Blazer rear discs on my car with an 8.5" corporate rear ('71-up), very similar to the LS rear disc set-up just smaller rotors (12" LS vs. 11'6" Blazer). I chose the Blazer parts over the LS for the parking brake set-up. They both have a "drum-in-hat" style parking brake but the Blazer has the cable mount built into the backing plate; with the LS parts you'll need to fabricate a mount for the parking brake cables. You'll also need longer bolts and a 1/4" spacer to mount the LS backing plate because it's much thicker than the stock drum backing plate. Here's a link to my build page, the rear brakes start at post #68 and again at post#79.

I already have everything on the car but when I went to bolt the axles on I found that I need a spacer. I don't think Kore3 sells that. I used his front c5 conversion though and it's great but there are no affordable wheels that I could find that fit without rubbing the caliper bracket.
Anyways, I'll search through that link and see if I can find anything. I've been googling for a long time and never found a single post where someone has addressed the issue. I would think it's common being that the parts for doing this swap are so cheap.

I went through your thread but can't view any pictures because I'm not a member. Maybe I'll sign up to check it out. I already have the fbody stuff on the car I just put it on the back burner while I finished other things but now I need to get the spacers and make it right. I already modified the mechanism for the parking brake and have a bracket to use to hold the cables. Only thing holding up is the spacer that I can't find anywhere. I am thinking that I will have to go to a machined shop and have it made for me. Google was no help in this venture. Thanks for the replies.

I bought a 1/4" spacer on eBay from a company in Florida called S10 Warehouse. But they no longer sell the spacer. You could make one yourself or have a shop make one. Here's a pic of the one I used.

I also needed a spacer to hold the bearing in place as the Blazer backing plate was much thicker than the OEM drum backing plate. Here's a pic of that. It's the aluminum "donut" with the blue dots.
