i bought some 555 for my chevelle and have zero miles on them. needed tires to push the car around the shop. the more i dive into tires the more im reading that 555 are an OK tire choice but their there are better ones out there. i have fallen in love with cup 2 tires, but i really would like the rival s tires since ive always ran a bfg tire. does anyone have experience with 555 on an autocross car? they hold up? same question for the cup 2 and rival s as well.

No experience with the cup 2. Are they even 200 tw? The 555 and the Rival S are not even in the same zip code as far as performance, the Rival is at least 3 seconds faster.

Hes ^^^^ correct. They are just street tires, barely qualify as performance tires. I have some on my camaro and they are fine for cruising and occasional spirited driving, but if youre gonna do alot of autocrossing etc, get a performance tire

Yep, nitto 555's were on my 69 Camaro when I bought it. They are great for driving around on the street. I liked them so much that when I got a flat, I replaced the front set with new ones. Last summer I got into auto crossing and quickly learned that I couldn't hang with the guys running stickier tires. I went to good guys in Columbus and I asked the pros what I could do to help my time and they said the first thing to do is get rid of the 555's because it's like driving around on cue balls they are so hard. This year I'm going to run Bridgestone RE71-R's and I'm thinking I'll be able to take at least a couple seconds off my time! Can't wait until April gets here!!! Damn winter! :)
