Hello guys probably been discussed here and there but cant find answers for the pontiac x body : i have the opportunity to buy a 350 auto pontiac ventura 73, im wanting to strip the interior and have some fun at the track, the thing is that the pontiac 350 is a pita to build and upgrade according to forums, im looking in swapping the chevy 350 for easy parts acces, budget etc . Im lookin for some one who can explain me what ill need to fabricate ,buy etc before i take the car and fond later what i got into, also is the pontiac tranny inferior to the th350 that came with chevy 350 ? Thank in advance and sorry for poor english

All you would need are the correct engine and frame mounts which you can get from a Nova. As far as the transmission is concerned, the Chevy and Pontiac TH 350 are the same internally but they have a different bell housing pattern.

Regarding what you have heard on the forums, building a Pontiac is no more a pain than a Chevy, just more expensive!

Where are you from?

Personally, I would do a budget LS swap...a stock 5.3L will run circles around a Pontiac or Chevrolet 350...and it will be a lot more drivable.
