Relocating Gas Filler Tube

Are there any safety issues I need to consider with relocating the gas filler tube to inside the trunk? I'm just trying to clean up the outside...

Well, if you were rear-ended or spun and backed into a barrier, the gas cap would gush fuel especially the old style gas caps. Fuel cells in race cars have either a flush aircraft filler or hose to the fender filler, but have an outside vent.

Larry was making up some neat race type fuel filler caps that look great. You might check into them, or maybe figure out how to put the filler behind the license plate.
