Guys

Wondering if it's possible to run exhaust over the rear axle with tailpipes out the back
on a 69 Camaro if it has DSE mini tubs and a Ridetech Level 2 coilover 4 link rear suspension?

Will there be enough room with the stock gas tank or will that need to be replaced?

It's possible but you need a gas tank with shaved corners.

I've done it before but on my last build I went under the rear end. So much for easier and less money tied up in mandrel bends.

Agreed, I have gone under the axle on several builds with no issues.

I went over the axle with a stock tank and stock wheel tubs and a Chassisworks G-Bar four-link using 3" '67 Chevelle flowmaster tailpipes. The tubs are 3" deeper though, right?

I'm new at this game and just trying to see all my options.

I'm sure this is a duplicate post, sorry bout that.

Thanks for the information.

Oh, do some 4 link systems allow for better clearances than others?

Running flowmaster 2 1/2 " kit on my 68 . Car has been mini tubbed and rear narrowed to 67nova specs. Also moved shocks in board tight fit but no rubbing

One of the reasons I went for the Speedtech torque arm was so I could get my 3" tubes over axel, mini tubbed and clipped corner gas tank
I have seen the guys modify the trunk pan with a clipped corner idea and they got their tubes over axel on a 4 link I believe

Like everyone is saying, the 2.5" can be ran over the rear end fairly easily. With 3", we run all of ours under the rear and out the back. I've had several customers do the same and it's worked out very well.

I bought the stainless works kit that was made for that. It goes under the axle but unless you crawl under the car you can't tell.

On my 68, I put the 3" hooker setup under the axles too. The instructions says it should work over the axles, but it wouldn't work with the ride tech setup. I just rearranged and slightly trimmed the parts they gave me, then welded them together. I have never hit the exhaust in the back, even though the car is pretty low.

I went under the axle with 3" pipes.

Here's a pic that shows the tank I got from Tanks, Inc with the angle cut corners. I got 2-1/2" pipe over the axle with the Ride Tech 4 link.

Just the angle of the pic. I had to extend the tips about 3" additional since this pic so it will pass state inspections.

I like the looks of those. What are you running on the front for wheel and tire size?
