Hey guys, got a dilemma here. I'm restoring the 70 SS Chevelle. I stripped it all down send it out had the body worked done, and thought now would be a good time to get the paint on before I put the car together. Problem is even though the car is virtually apart and requires no masking the best price I can get is $10,000 in the South Jersey area. Some are much more, and some don't want to paint it all. My thing is do I rethink this and put the car together let them mask it or continue to find someone to paint it now. Really not doing anything to nuts other than the rally stripe. Anybody know a good painter in the South Jersey area? Any sugestions?

Paint the interior, trunk, firewall and door jam areas .....assemble the car then you can finish it off . This in my opinion is not ideal but can be done with excellent results . The best would be to essentially build the car twice ...once to make sure everything fits and works then make everything pretty and shiny then reassemble
