I am looking at doing some upgrades and would like to run 275s up front using a stock sub, AFX spindles, SPC lower/upper control arms and 18x9 5.75" BS wheels. Other than limited turning radius and modifying the wheelwell are there any other reasons this won't work?

steering arms drop down to far and will hit the rim

Thanks. If I run the AFX spindles is the only solution to run an 18x8 wheel with less backspace and a smaller tire?

Look at the Ridetech Tru Turn system. Ridetech claims a 275 tire on a 10 inch rim with a 5.75BS

Thanks. I'm aware of the Ridetech setup. I am wanting to see what the possibilities are if I buy the AFX spindles and use them with my existing SPC controls arms. For no more than I am going to autocross/road race the car I may just stick with an 18x8 wheel with 245s.

I have SPC arms and AFX spindles on my Firebird. I'm running 18x8.5 wheels with 245/40/18 tire up front. I wanted to be able to run 18x9 wheels/275 tires up front, but as Rod said, the steering arm will hit the rims. Currently I have 1/8" clearance between the steering arms and the wheels.

Thanks. What backspace are you running?

If memory serves correctly, it's 5.25" BS

I have spc upper and lowers with afx tall spindles and had a heck of a time fitting an 18x8 et20 5.25 bs. I had issues with the tie rod hitting the backside of the rim. I had to find the needle in a hay stack z/28 arms to clear and still had to put small spacers between the steering arms and spindles. The tires just touch the frame and full lock front and back with 245 tires. This is all installed on and x-body, but same subframe. The one advantage you have over my set up is more outer fender lip room.
