So if I decide to try a 315/30/18 on an 18x9.5 wheel, will I actually hurt traction?

Seems like it would be a challenge to even attempt mounting that! I'm sure that it also would not be ideal for traction from that tire.

For some people, an 11" wheel is still barely enough for a 315 tire . . . 275 is max for a 9.5.

OK, I figured I'd get more opinions. I was pretty sure it was a no go, but now I know for sure. Thanks for the replies.

I had a 295/30-18 on a 9.5 wheel and it barely fit. Now I have a 285 and its perfect.

I totally agree. A 285 would be absolutely fine. 275 ideal but by all means 285 it haha

My 295/45/18 fits awesome on an 18x9.5 FWIW.
