Hi everybody, I am looking for suggestions for a decent brake system that will fit with a set of 17" Torque Thrust II's. I've had a pair on the car for 15 years and a friend is doing me a favor and selling me an old pair with more backspacing. It's for a 69 Camaro with stock wheel wells and fenders, Hotchis dropped racing springs, about 3 inches and dropped leaf springs in the back. Any help or info would be great. Thanks

You may need that extra backspacing with new brakes. So far, all the brakes I've seen have some amount of positive offset (moving the hub outward) from stock and varies depending on the vendor. When you're dealing with larger 8-9-10" wide wheels that little offset can really cause havoc inside a stock wheelwell if you've already bought your wheels. So, word of caution, be very aware of the new offset from stock before you settle on a set of brakes.

I just put 13" C5 front brakes on my '69 Camaro. I have 17"x8" Vintage Wheel Works wheels on the front, but to clear the C5 Caliper I had to use a narrow spacer, but have no problems with rubbing anywhere. My wheels are cast, do not have a separate hoop and flare up thicker at the back of the spokes. If your wheels have a hoop that is straight across at the spokes you may not need a spacer. Talk to Tobin at Kore3 Industries, he's a wealth of information. Kore3 also has some templates you can download to test fit with your wheels.
Try LS1 brake swap. I don't know if it fits your wheels but they fit 17 in billet specialties Street lites with no problems.

Not 100% sure but Baer ss4 may actually fit https://www.carid.com/1969-chevy-camaro-brakes/baer-ss4-plus-brake-system-10643956.html The rear rotors are only 11" in diameter and fitment list says that it will fit 15" and larger rims. The front brakes from this kit are 13" so there should be some space to fit them behind the 17" wheels.

I have 13" disc 6 piston calipers (wilwood) on front, and used 7"x 17" TTIIs with 4" back space as my rollers during assembly of my 68 camaro. no problem.
