The guy sent me pics who has it. From the looks of it, it's an LT1 T56. He doesn't have pictures of and doesn't know the part number but claims it's from a 2002 Camaro. The bell-housing has a hole for a shift fork and the clutch he has a pic of has a shift fork on it. Not an LS1 T56.

Update:

He claims he has the "other" bellhousing. His buddy was going to use it for his SS impala.

I asked if he also had the midplate for it, because it has an LT1 midplate and bellhousing on it.

He said he would get a picture of the part number. No response on the midplate.

Gotcha. It would have been a great deal on an LS version.

I contacted him as well but the bell housing looked off quite a bit and I am not to familiar with that trans to begin with.

It also looked like his bell housing had a weld going across the top close to the trans....

Well that sucks. Ah well, I was just trying to look out for other PT members.

fyi: in case you already dont know, u can ID a LT1 T56 vs an LS T56 very easy. LS style on has a bolt hole centerd at 12 O'clock on the bell. LT1 does not.

I noticed that while researching this trans listed....

Is the LT1 and LS transmission the same or totally different. I was told the input shaft is longer on LS....I didnt know
if gearing was the same, etc....

I guess im going ot either have to break the bank and get a tko600, t56 mag, or a LGT700......

Anyone use the McLEOD 5 speed?
