Dominators are Great helmets, but a 2005 is out of date for most organizations

Sure if you’re going to race. Perfect for a track day helmet. New Snell 2015 helmet dominators will cost $800+

"The current SCCA minimum helmet requirements are Snell M-95 or newer. You will not be allowed on track with a helmet not meeting these minimums.

While not absolutely required, an SA rated helmet is Nomex lined to keep you head from catching on fire if the car should go up in flames. Yes, an SA helmet is more expensive then an “M” helmet but it offers the added fire protection."

Acceptable standards include:

Snell ratings: SA2015, SAH2015, SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, M2015, M2010, M2005

Important note: SA2000 and M2000 Helmets will still be allowed at Track Night events for 2016, but not for 2017.

SFI ratings 31.1, 31.1A, 3.12, 31.2A, 31.1 2005, 41.1, 41.1A, 41.2, 41.2A, 41.2 2005, 24.1

FIA: 8860-2010, 8860-2015

*These are the standard Track Night in America helmet requirements. Be sure to also double check for any track specific requirements on the venue page for the facility at which you plan to participate: http://www.tracknightinamerica.com/tracks.
