Hi guys!
I´m a new forum user from Finland. I have a -75 Camaro that I just got driveable last winter. I traded my old motocross bike for it. It was just a rusty body with axles on it. I have been slowly building it. It is definetly NOT a pure pro-touring car (no shiny paint job, no expensive chassis stuff) but I have made it a bit more track capable, and now it´s becoming a bit more pro-tourish (bigger brakes, better suspension etc.). I ended up getting these big 18" racing slicks for it long before the car was even running so I was determined to drive it on the road course some day.
The first thing I did though was hitting the ice road course with it:

I think this has nothing to do with pro-touring, but i thought I share it with you because it was just so much fun :)
After the snow melt, I hit the track with it:

I only managed to do 4 laps, until my timing cover failed, but I did get some good info on what needed to be improved. As you see in the video, the rear axle barely kept under the car when cornering and it was awfully wobly to drive.
It was a busy summer and I had little time to work on the car. I fabricated a panhard bar to the rear, made a front wing, made room for and adjusted more camber and hit the track again. The car was so much better and I was able to lay down some quite good lap times actually. But the chassis and suspension still wasn´t enough for the racing slicks and the tires went bald on the outside corners of the tires.

After that, I was determined to make the car at least capable of utilizing the slicks so they would wear evenly troughout the surface of the tire. And the brakes needed an upgrade too.
So now I am upgrading the car with bigger brakes (wilwood 4 caliper to all corners with bigger rotors), stiffer springs and shocks, stiffer anti-roll bars, replacing the old rubber bushings in the front with polyurethane ones and modifying the stock UCA mounts a bit to make for more caster.
I´ve been reading the posts of Ron Sutton over the suspension section and I have learned SO MUCH about the cars suspension geometry and handling. This site has been a very good place to get information from so I figured I´d join the forum and shared my track day fun machine with you :)
