IMHO, it's worth every penny of the $79K they're asking. I can't think of much else that would be as cool for the same cash...

I doubt you could build it for that cost.. I want to see it with the black GS wheels on it :)

I wonder how it would do at the track?? 330hp.. 2000lbs.. hmmm

Its been on ebay a number of times, for some reason they can't get rid of it. If I had the money, I'd be all over it. I really think it's a shame that they don't do GS kitcars. I'd much rather have one of these than a cobra.

If I had the money I'd buy it without hesitation. I found it very funny that about half way down the page it says that since there are "295 Billion" people in the U.S. this will be a very exclusive car to own.

There's Grand Sport kit cars. Is this just a kit car trying to be passed off as an original??

i personally think it would have been cooler with a little bit more exotic motor...an lt5 would be absolutely awesome in that car, especially since it already has a lot of other zr1 parts.

no way. the LT5 is huge and very heavy that would throw the weight off. besides they are throwing around ZR1 left and right with the suspension and brakes as if its something so special. the ZR1s suspension or brakes were nothing special that couldnt be had on a regular vette. yes springs rates and shocks were different. Aarms and rearend were not. I put ZR1/GS brakes on the front of a 94 vette using factory peices for very little money. id have to double check but the RPO is J9L for 13in brakes which is what the GS/ZR1 cars had.

330hp LT1? huh? either they dressed up and repainted an LT4 aka Grand Sport motor or they aren't too sure what they have. The LT1 was 300 hp in the vette 305 and 315 in the WS6/SS/Firehawk cars. the LT4 was 330hp in the vette and rated at 330 in the fbodies but considering those cars are putting down nearly 330 to the wheels after being tuned, that rating is a little low.

my point is this. the car looks fantastic on the outside. im sure it is well worth the asking price. there are a lot of buzz words thrown around that entire ad though. the ad is horrible and full of too much hype instead of facts. the engine pictures are crap. the detail shots are too close. i do not need to see an upclose shot of the rims like they posted. thats like showing me an up close shot of the cast iron manifolds on the car. its minor compared to the parts that really matter like fit and finish of the engine bay and interior. they are trying to sell the sizzle by showing you great pictures of a steak while turning a water faucet on in a sink for the sizzle sound.

i hang out on www.transamcountry.com those guys have their own ebay and other forum where they pic cars apart. ive learned so much from them about the auction pages. those guys can spot the most minor problem with a car. i guess a lot of it finally sunk in. i just simply think they needed to take better pictures and stop hyping the car up with all the history and buzz terms. if the car so great it will sale itself with the right pictures. and i do think the car is great and worth the asking price. seeing it in person i bet would reassure that thought.

I can't agree more, I didn't pay much attention to the ad since it was more about the history of the Grand Sports than anything (it draws away from the actual car they're selling) but I can't say enough about how irritated I get when people put lousy pictures of their car for sale. Too often you see pictures of the wrong things, when as Trey said to show the fit and finish of the car, not just the highlights. It makes me wonder what they're hiding sometimes.

That is awesome! I love it!

I would pass on the electronics (DVD nav etc) but otherwise the thing is killer!

I like that car alot. Would've used some different wheels, though, and I really doubt it weighs only 2,000lbs.

FWIW,an LT5 only weighs 100lbs more than an LT4 sbc and that's with its 42lb dual-mass flywheel assy.
