Hi Guys, new to the site. Lots of great builds. I'm in the process of the transformation & excited about some new Budnik wheels. I was thinking of 17x8 fronts & 17x 11 rears. Brushed/Polished Tungstens. I have an 1970 Olds O rear end. I know the differential width is narrower that a stock Gto, so back spacing will be different. (The car is on the road)Anyone know max width and back spacing for the front & rear. Also what brakes I can upsize to later? I'm concerned 18 wheels will look odd, I like some rubber with my tires, Thanks

I have a 1969 Cutlass with an Olds type-O rear, stock width. 285/40/18 rear tires is about as wide as I can safely go, but I'm sure the GTO's wheel wells aren't exactly the same size as a Cutlass. I'm running C5 Corvette brakes with a kit by KORE3. I would contact Tobin at KORE3 and see if the Z51 or ZO6 Corvette brakes would work on the Olds rear end, I don't see why not.

I also don't care for very low profile tires on classics, I think 285/40 (and 255/45 front) on my car looks just fine.

The 12 bolt rear ends on some olds had a 10' ring and pinion. I do not know what years was effected but the rear end that I took out of a 77 wrecked elkie I discovered when it had bearing retainers not clips.

I agree, about some rubber with your tires. You have 18s all around? I was thinking 17x9 front 18x11 rear. I would love a 305 out back. What do you think? I would like to see more pictures of your car/wheels. I always had a liking for the cutlass. I had a 1972, & my best friend had a 1968. Thanks

I have 18x9 on all four corners, 285/40 rear and 255/45 up front. I've been tempted to widen the rears to 18x10 but the tires wear nice and even so I'm not too worried about it. 305's on 11 rims is perfect, but I can't comment on if they'd fit.

Thanks. The clear coat is starting to peel and I'm getting new tires installed this winter. So I'm taking the opportunity to sandblast and powder coat the wheels as close to chrome as possible. Then I'll use plast-dip on the areas that are currently grey, and make them a darker shade of grey to better match the black top and tinted windows.

They do look very nice. What wheels are those?

Voxx/BG Rod Works "Gasser" I purchased through Discount Tire. (I believe BG Rod Works is a division of Voxx wheels, not sure though)

I don't believe they are available anymore. I've never seen another set in person, and that includes 3 Power Tours. If you Google search, not too many image results. Looks like a handful of late model Challenger and Charger owners used them.

Its somewhat comical how the more we look at some of the PT stuff, the more we change our minds. My wheel and tire selection landed me to chose 18×9 with 255/40/18 and my rears are 19×11 with 295/35/19. Budnik Revolver with Michelin pilot super sport tires. Hope the look good and fit well. Im waiting for the 295 tires, due next week everyhing else is accouted for and ready to mount

I swapped out my old Goodyear Super cars in the above mentioned sizes to a set of Continental DW's, 255/40/18 front and 285/40/18 rear. I wasn't sure I'd like the lower profile front tire, but it looks good. I also lowered it another 1/2" or so, which looks killer.

Great choice on tires! The Mich Pilot Sports were my first choice, but Tire Rack had a huge sale on the Conti's so I went with them.
